Prep for exams

I should seriously start studying. I don’t know why, but somehow I just can’t find the momentum for me to start studying.

I just get so distracted by everything! 😥 And these are mainly clothes, food or everything else under the sun. -.-

The only way out: forcing myself. Despite its sucha bad idea to force myself, but I better start now, or else I won’t be able to go for my company’s DND on the day before one of my papers. :O

P.S. I just dl-ed an app, Dayre, and my posts are mainly there right now. Like my recent Malaysia trip, and what I did on Friday. What I wore/ ate are also uploaded there. I guess I will be uploading more stuff there now, cos its fuss-free blogging, WOOHOO~

I normally have to resize my pics from the camera, and create a watermark for my pics, so that ppl won’t be able to “steal” my pics.

But in my dayre, I guess nobody actually is willing to “steal” it, since pics would be cropped to a certain size! Go take a look at dayre.me/fanglanglang

BACK TO STUDY NOW!

Life

Been SUPER busy, like REALLY REALLY busy! And the only thing I wanted to do when I had my one week break of holiday from school was actually to watch the dramas, slack around and just head out!

And now the battle has started again, and I have 3 assignments on hand that I have to submit it tmr, Friday and Sunday. 😥

But it will soon be overrrrrr! And I can’t wait for May, when my exams would be over! Just a short while more!

And so I have been reading news on the MH370 since it disappeared on March 8th. I cant imagine how anguish the relatives must be feeling right now. Its just so sad. 😥

Life is so fragile, and yet we neglect our loved ones sometimes. So always appreciate who is there for you, or else it will be too late.

And it makes me thinking, at the end, when you look back into life, nobody is higher than God. No matter what religion you are, God is still higher than any human being in this world. I can’t stand it when people look down on people just cos of what they have achieved/what they think that they are smarter than the rest. So why put yourself so high up, and be proud of your status in the company, your monetary status, or even your likes status whether in instagram/fb/twitter? At the end, just be happy with whatever you have, whatever you are about to achieve, and live your life just as yourself.

For me, I really love food (whether in hawker centres), shopping and fashion (will I be crazy to tell you that sometimes when I get something, I really will imagine how to match or what to match with it), and so I created this blog. I don’t bother being someone I am not, or creating a persona I am trying to aim to be. 🙂

Thanks for reading, and I will blog soon! 🙂

Random outlet of destress

Hi,

I guess its just weird seeing my blog so empty and all. But I really promise after this week, things will get better, I hope.

Was back from a “short but funny and spending” shopping trip with my GBFL, Sha la la! And after I reached home, I realised that the amount of time you spend with your loved ones or friends is nothing comparable at all.

Previously, I was pretty afraid of not doing so well for my assignments and kinda flunking it (like how I did for UOL exams), but after this short shopping trip, I realised that I should be stronger and fearless. Cos nothing else fails than you not being there for them, or not enjoying your time with them while you are worrying for stuff like studies. 🙂

So I’m glad I have you, Sha la la~

And on a serious note, I kinda feel that I’m a shopaholic that needs to go under severe mediation or physiological help. Every time I see something I like, I mentally think through over what I can match it with, and somehow or rather, I would feel that it matches with EVERYTHING IN MY WARDROBE. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE WHEN I JUST THINK AND THINK ABOUT HOW PERFECT IS IT WITH ALL THE STUFF I HAVE IN MY WARDROBE?!!

I THINK I NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP. IS THERE THIS HOTLINE CALLED THE SOS-THIS-GIRL-IS-ON-SEVERE-SHOPAHOLIC-DISEASE?

Okay, I guess I need self-control instead of any SOS. O.O

1st post of 2014

Hello everybody!
Time really passes by in a zoom, its already been 15 days since the start of the new year!
Still in a its-as-if-New-year-was-just-yesterday mood!

Not been really blogging, as I was seriously slacking my way past New Year and having some serious ‘me’ therapy. And my ‘me’ therapy involves around running, watching Korean dramas (OMGOSH DON’T LET ME START ON MASTER’S SUN. GONG HYO JIN IS SO PRETTY. THE MORE I LOOK AT HER, THE MORE I FIND HER SO PRETTY. AND SO JI SUB, DAMN COMICAL.I JUST ENDED THIS DRAMA, AND I WANNA WATCH ITS LAST EPISODE AGAIN!!!!!!!) , reading ( One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern), practicing piano and preparing for my start of a new school term (new degree, new friends, new modules and hopefully a new belief that I can do it). There’s just SO much that I can do at home!

Of course, I can’t possibly be ranting about what I did since the start of 2014 right! But I think this post should be dedicated to what I have achieved thus far, and I’m proud to announce that I succeeded in making a crepe cake.

Crepe cakes, also known as mille cake are getting more and more popular in SG, and many stores such as Lady M ( which is well-known in US has opened in SG. Tried it, and its costly- 8++ per piece. Don’t really recommend, as it doesn’t taste as impactful as I think it will be.)  The best that I’ve tried: Sunset Way Classic Cakes Mille Crepe. But be prepared for a not-that-good service, and costs $7.50 per piece.

Back to my crepe cake! Not the best yet, but at least I succeeded! Its actually my 2nd attempt cause the 1st attempt failed, and it looked horrid.

I mean who would want to eat this?

IMG_20140106_1 (1)

Yup, this was my 1st attempt making crepe cake which failed terribly! :X I actually found this Nutella Mille Crepe Cake recipe from Youtube, and the Japanese woman who was doing this made it looked super easy!

Shall not post the Youtube video, cause I FAILED. 😦 I guess I spread too much Nutella in between, and should have known how Nutella is such a thick spread which causes the cake to collapse.

So I decided to find another recipe, and this time I decided to do an original mille cake recipe, with the crepe layer done by scratch. The previous one was just adding eggs and sugar together.

This was the recipe that I got!

http://willcookforsmiles.com/2013/08/boston-cream-crepe-cake.html

But gotta mention about some stuff in BOLD that I actually did/ things to look out for.

P.S. Please do the custard first, as it needs time to cool the custard to room temperature, before placing it inside the fridge for an hour.

Custard:

2014-01-03 21.35.06

  • 1 cup of whole milk ( Its best to use those that are non-chilled so that you do not need to wait for it to be under room temperature. For this, I used Emborg Full-Cream Whole Milk.)
  • 2/3 cup of heavy cream ( heavy cream is also known as whipping cream. For this, I used Emborg Whipping Cream avail in NTUC. If the NTUC near my house has it, I believe everywhere has it, cos my house is a little ulu.)
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1. Whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until completely combined.

2. Add flour, whisk very well and set aside while heating the milk.

3. Heat milk, heavy cream, butter and salt until simmering. Slowly add the heated milk mixture into the egg yolk mixture stirring constantly. Whisk well, slowly.

4. Return the mixture into the pot and bring to simmer stirring constantly. The mixture will thicken within 30-45 seconds. Take off heat! (This is the trickiest part cos it was due to this part that made me redo the custard cream again, as I heated it too long, and resulting in coagulation! Monitor the heat once the custard is placed inside the pot, and ensure that it become a thick smooth cream, instead of becoming chunks.)

5. Whisk in the vanilla, set aside to cool to room temperature. ( I placed the custard inside the fridge to allow it to cool down further, for easier assemble of the cake.

Crepes:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup veggie oil
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 4 tbs sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 to 3 1/2 cups of boiling water (Consistency should be like melted ice cream!!) – For this I didn’t put so much water, as once I put 1 cup of boiling water, the consistency was already like melted ice cream. If I added more, it would become over-diluted.

1. Preheat a non-stick pan on medium high heat.

2. Combine flour, eggs, milk, oil, salt, sugar and baking soda. Whisk all well.

3. Slowly, start adding 1/4 cup of the hot water at a time to the batter. Whisking constantly until the batter reaches the consistency of melted ice cream.

4. Pour about a ladle-full into the hot pan and swirl slowly. ( Its easier to use those small pan types instead of a big pan, as the crepe should be around the size of your pan.)

5. Cook for a few seconds on each side, until golden.

Assembling the cake:

Super happy me cos it succeeded! It didn’t collapse after it was being assembled, so I was sure that it is successful!

1. Spread a somewhat thin layer of custard on each crepe as you stack them of top of each other.

2. Refrigerate for a few hours or overnight to let the cake set.

2014-01-04 13.13.14

So this is it, my own version of the crepe cake. I didn’t follow it totally, and didn’t pour the ganache too, as I was temporarily afraid of chocolate/ nutella stuff to add them into/on my cake! :X

I guessed I need to improve on the texture of the crepes as it doesn’t cut as smoothly as the ones from Lady M/ Classic Cakes. Maybe due to the fact that I actually decided to wait for it to become golden brown before turning each side.

But I shall try my best to do it again, till I achieve my desired texture! 🙂

Self-reflection

Hi everyone!! Today’s 31st of December, which is the last day of 2013, and from tomorrow onwards, it will be a brand new year and hopefully, a brand new start for everybody! So, I would like to grab this opportunity to have a lengthy last post for my 2013!

In 2013, there were quite a number of disappointments, especially in studies wise. I know that I’m not really a great student and my grades can get pretty average, but never did I expect that despite all the effort (I really did put in effort by not going out at all during the weekends to focus), I just flunked my exams. It was quite a blow to me, and I really felt so guilty to my parents for flunking the exams. However, I decided to continue studying, and although the degree that I’m about to take might not have many opportunities (jobs/life wise), but I just want to prove that I can do it, that I can get a degree.

In 2013, I’m glad I discovered even more clearly, who were the friends who stayed, the friends who left and the friends who changed. A lot of things happened in 2013, and it proved to me clearly who always remained by my side, despite everything. I’m really grateful for that. But to those that left, things might change if BOTH OF US made the effort. I don’t find myself always putting the effort, but it kinda sucks to know that when you put in the effort, and that person just clearly doesn’t, that friendship is GONE. To me, there were a couple of people that I felt I could give a chance, but they broke it/ didn’t really treasure it, and so I will totally move on, just as they did.

In 2013, I learnt quite a number of stuff, where one of them is cooking. Yup, cooking. Its considered an improvement, ok? I learnt how to cook rice (don’t judge me, please), blanch vegetables, steam tofu with meat. And I hope that in 2014, I will learn how to fry! I think frying is quite scary, because the oil might attack me, if the oil is not hot enough! Other than that, I hope that in 2014, I will succeed in my crepe cake! Please help me keep my fingers crossed! 🙂

In 2013, I travelled to quite a number of places too! The shopping heaven in BKK, relaxing outing to Montigo (I still wanna go Fana) and a food outing to Malacca. I really enjoyed each of these travels, and I aim to go to more travelling places in 2014! 🙂

In 2013, I loved more food than I ever knew. I don’t mind exploring the whole of SG, just to find more food, to try, to savour! 🙂 My fav is still Jap food though!

In 2013, I became closer with my lovely secondary school/poly friends and I have learnt to appreciate them even more than ever. My sec sch friends, such as Sha la la, Fana, Haz, Lali and CH are one of the best group of friends that I have, and its amazing that those who you know through secondary school are always those that are the closest and true to you, and always know a deeper understanding to you. I have also a few poly friends whom I am closer to, such as RY, HH san, LL, ZY, MH, Sandra, JS, Nich, and Grace, who have made me a happier person that I already am. Can’t wait to head on more outings in 2014 with them, whether individually or together.

And in 2013, surprisingly, I also kept in contact with my primary school friends, Ger, YS and Kay, and we even did a Christmas exchange. It has been like what 10 years since I saw them??!! And I am so surpised how we could chit chat with no awkwardness or silence at all! We are already planning for the next outing, and I’m so happy that we still remained in contact!

Other than that, I am so thankful for so many funny and helpful colleagues that I got to know better throughout 2013. Hope the year ahead will be better!

Of course, in 2013, WC and I celebrated our 4th year anniversary. I’m glad that 4 years on, we still braved through all obstacles, all difficulties, all misunderstandings, to arrive on our 4th year, as a stronger and changed couple. Hopefully, we will still remain as strong as can be!

Talking about WC, in 2013, I also remained quite good buddies with WC’s buddies- Melon, Woody and Mr Muscle. Late night movies till 2am were our outings since Melon started work, and we became close buddies than ever. Its nice knowing how you can be buddies with ur bf friends, and its nice chatting with them over like what you are facing/ undergoing. I will always remember what Melon said to me when he was fetching me home from WC place, which is really funny, yet truthful.

In 2013, my family still remained as strong as ever, and I’m glad that my family was at my back, when I faced many difficulties in my studies. 🙂

Thats mainly all what happened in 2013. May there be more positivity in 2014, and may my friends, family and colleagues be happier, stronger and healthier! 🙂

I will see this blog again, in 2014. Wishing this year ahead, a better year for each and everyone of your reading this blog, and enjoy the new year! 😀

F1 race

Hihi everybody, so damn busy these past few days!

Been trying to like manage my time well at home! There’s so MUCH stuff to do at home, like blogging, reading my ” An Abundance Of Katherines”, reading 8days, running, cardio, watching my Korean drama ” The Heirs”, practising piano, baking and etc.

How I wish I can manage my time so well till I can do all of it in the few hours that I stay at home after work. But its pretty much impossible! :O I try my best to stay at home like 2 of the weekdays, so that I can actually have some “me” time. Honestly, everybody should have some “me” time, to stop yourself from rushing around after work, and doing some stuff that you truly enjoy!

On to the f1 race that happened in September (super backtrack). I have so much stuff to blog about, and I’m just clearing off some of them now!

Only received the news that we were given tickets by my Uncle to go to the f1 night race ( the pole position race) the day before.

Before the race, we headed to Hoshino Coffee that I wanted to try a long time ago, due to its long queue!

Hoshino Coffee

Fluffy pancakes with Matcha ice cream ($13.90)!

The pancakes are really soft as they are made freshly on the spot! 😀

*Please take note to order this first as it takes approximately 20-30minutes*

90CRr81386690162

Carbonara ($14) tends to get a little creamy + filling for my taste. But this was just right, it doesn’t make the whole taste too overwhelmed and filling!

But the bacon was a little too salty for my liking!

zkKTBA1386690806

And we reached the floating platform, where it all starts!

The food village, where all the stuff are so ex! One plain Coke costs like $5?!

But it was quite an experience seeing how well-known restaurants such as Marche, Harry’s Bar having makeshift tents here!

OY9CIX1386862793

Felt a need to take with the Rolex clock!

I have only seen Rolex sponsoring one other sports event, which is tennis for Wimbledon!
Its Rolex afterall leh (typical Singaporean/ typical me), HAHHAHA!

& see that lappie that we carried ALL the way from Plaza Sing to Marina Bay, just cause it was on offer and was left with only 2 pieces!

Harry’s Bar Fish and Chips! It tasted cold, as it has already been pre-packed before ordering! 😥

This cost us $16! :O Regretted not eating before heading inside the F1 village! 😦

& we were in! Our seats faced directly to the Grand Pitstand, where all the F1 cars were parked, and the start line for the Saturday night race!

This was how empty it was, even though the race was to be starting in 10 minutes time!

I guess most people buy the tickets to just look-see, look-see and listen to the performances by different bands/ singers.

jxvNcu1387462573

My camera shutter speed is too slow to take the full view of the car, but this is the closest that I can take using my camera!

The cars will just ZOOM past real quick, which can be only fully taken by videos only!

I personally feel that this F1 race thing is an experience, but I won’t ever want to head back again, and as I put it, its as if your money will go zooming past as quickly as the vehicles zoom past in a split second! O.O

Ending abruptly, to head back to watch my drama! And hoping I can rest earlier today, its been a tiring week! 🙂

Loots for today, a random post.

Hello! 🙂

Just back frm a shopping trip at Bugis with my uni friends, Jiayi and Rongyuan! 😀

Walked the whole of Bugis street, and they have expanded to a bigger portion of level 2 and level 3, or maybe its just old news, and I haven’t really been heading outside to walk around!

Instead, I normally online shop, and I really love it, since its so convenient that I don’t even need to head out of my house anymore. And its the excitement of waiting for the packages to arrive. But been trying to control my online shopping now though, as even I find myself overspending! 😦

Ok, loots for today now!

g5JUOr1386510113

GREEDY ME! :X always buying Jap snacks!

Finally found Everyburger! Its a snack that I always eat when I was young, filled with chocolate, and the taste just brings back childhood memories! (2 for $5 bucks BTW)

SUPER LOVE THE GREEN TEA MIDI POCKY, which is of a thicker green tea filling than the normal ones! ($3.30)

Giotto is given by my sister, and if you love something hazelnut-whitechoco combi, you will LOVE THIS. (Can be bought from Choco Express at a cheaper price than, 12 rows in total for $10, but its OOS at most Choco Express outlets)

TD9dee1386511060

IN LOVE WITH THIS BRAND, VDL RIGHT NOW! And I’m super happy that it has opened a new store in Jurong Point/Bugis Junction!

The Festival Nail Duo (BLACK AND GOLD IS THE BEST COMBI) was bought on Saturday with RuiYing, while the Love Mark Lipstick, in 102 Robert was bought today with Rongyuan!

They are having sales right now, with everything that has a cost of minimum 10 bucks to have a 10% off. 🙂 Nail polishes are 4 for $20, and I gotten some of them too *cough*

The Lipsticks range has an offer of 2 for $35 now, normal price is $21 and so its such an offer right now! So glad that Rongyuan decided to get a lipstick to share the cost with me! HEHEHHE!

Sounds like a sponsored from VDL post, but its not. Its just that I really love ! 😀 this brand, from its nicely arranged items to its friendly staff that gave me good opinions about which lipstick colour will suit my skintone. 😀

Must really promise myself to use lipsticks already, there are a few lipsticks/lipstains that I have, such as coral, red that I haven’t use yet, so I’m so guilty in getting this new shocking pink colour, but when arranged together its just so nice and colourful! 😀

So, this is just a random post, and I wanted to combine it with my another post, but haven’t edit the other pictures yet, so shall just post this before my blog gets kinda empty!

Thanks for reading though! 😀

Till then!

Montigo Resorts

Hello! 🙂

Another travelogue here, and this time its to Montigo Resorts, Batam!

So glad that I made this trip in Sep with the TSOU group, which also means The Super On Us! Cause we (Nurul, Fana, WC, Sha la la and me) are super on, for anything at any last minute planning. 🙂

This time, we made the decision 1 week of spamming photos in our group chat, before we decided and headed to Montigo (that’s how super on we actually are)! My GBFL Sha la la can’t make it though, so its left with the 4 of us!

A lot of people can’t believe it when I said that this lovely place is in Batam, as it looks like a resort like in Bintan! 😀

We paid like SGD130 per pax, including the ferry tickets!

*Pictures Overload ahead*

And here goes:

9TnOLM1385394837

Our morning faces, still tired as ever!

Our trip was like 930am, and so we had to reach Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, 1 and a half hour before (8am) to catch our ferry to Nongsapura Ferry Terminal!

There’s a bus provided by Montigo Resorts to send us to the resort directly, (as long as you send an email confirming the timing that you arrive at Nongsapura Terminal)! 🙂

Ee2nCZ1385480695

WC brought me up to the roof deck to see the sea, but the wind got to big, till it felt that my specs were dropping off!

The sun was shining directly down upon us, so I could only be able to squint my eyes when taking the pic! :O

And we reached the Nongsapura Terminal, but it looks like a huge thunderstorm is coming up! 😥

Applause to a good service, where this attendant volunteered to help us take this photo, although he was busy! 😀

In their resort rules, checking-in time was 3pm, which means we were too early, and the preparation for our hill side villa wasn’t ready yet. We were waiting at the hotel lobby for like 15 mins, until the staff actually told us they could help us change to another villa, and we could check-in immediately at 11am!

Cheers to good service and flexibility in the changing of rules! 😀

p0ebN71385650917

In the buggy to send us to our villa! 🙂

Do note that Montigo has a rule of only allowing a max of 4 people to stay in the villas (hillside villa, hillview villa and seafront villa, while spa villa only allows max 2 people).

Its kinda risky to ‘cheat’ by only booking 1 villa if you have more than 4 people, as the lobby resort staff will check in for you first before directing the buggy driver to you, so they will actually know who did check in.

Additionally, the buggy is the only transport that brings you from the lobby to your villa itself.

So if you go in a bigger group than 4 people, you can actually request for a villa that is beside each other!

XxyEfm1385651230

Our home sweet home for 2 days 1 night! 😀

The shuttle bus will take off at 12pm, once daily, and so if you miss the timing, there will be no bus to go to Nagoya Hill!

And so, we weren’t able to explore the whole villa yet, until we be back from Nagoya Hill.

iqt4Ui1385652559

Reached Nagoya Hill, and A&W is always necessary when visiting Batam!

Rootbeer is my fav soft drink ever, and its sad how the A&W rootbeer in a can, sold in Singapore, is just not the same taste as the rootbeer from A&W in Batam/Malaysia! 😥

e2CY0W1385820378

Too little curly fries given! 😥

dkZ7BX1385820674

Baskin-Robbins Mint Chocolate Milkshake after that!

We decided to buy some groceries to cook at our villa’s kitchen, and so we went to the supermarket first before walking around to rest at JCO.

SNG9RC1385822508

JCO for their yogurt and donuts (to enjoy at our villa)! 🙂

Their donuts cost only SGD$1.70 for 3 donuts! O.O

Thought that we won’t be able to eat finish these, but we finished right after our night swim!

We spent our time at JCO for like approx. 3 hours, and we were talking about how we miss our villa so much and how tired we were! 😦

There was no way we were going back there via taxi cause its pretty ex, like SGD 16 per person and its pretty dangerous as we are unsure of whether the person from the taxi is going to bring us to another place?! O.O

We walked around, played arcade for a short while and the bus came!

Xe8Jov1385821875

The living room area at the 1st level, that has a small kitchen!

And behold, the best part of the villa: Our own personal pool, that is in every villa! 🙂

osllxx1385822413

Walked out from the pool area, and saw this guy here enjoying himself! 🙂

Another grand chef, Nurul cooked this dish, Scrambled Eggs with Onions!

We weren’t sure whether we had enough plates at the villa itself, and so we bought Styrofoam boxes to put our food!

HAFF4l1385889413

Another dish cooked by Nurul! Aglio Olio, which tasted absolutely nice! We garnished off the whole plate! 😀

Nurul, if you are reading this, please teach me how to cook this!! 😀

‘Melted’ cheese mushrooms. We wanted it to melt, and placed inside the oven for like 15mins, but it didn’t melt at all! :O

Thinking whether has it got to do with Indonesian cheese quality, or the oven problem! O.O

Came out to place all the food at a table overseeing our private pool, and saw this view. 🙂

Our awesome view to accompany us for our dinner!

After finishing our dinner and washing up all the pans/plates, we started playing Wii, that is provided in the villa! 🙂

So addicted to this game that we played like 3-5 times before we left the villa! 😀

Late night swimming to end off our day 1!

Sidetrack a little to something funny that happened after we bathed and watched TV at the master bedroom.

We BRAVELY watched this documentary where the host would go around the world to find haunted places, to prove if the place itself is really haunted or its just a myth. And the episode that we watched was him exploring an abandoned school in Hongkong.

The doors would close whenever he looked into one of those classrooms, and it just looks eerie enough. :O

Out of a sudden, there was a huge slam, which sounds like a slam on one of the doors outside our room, but in our villa.

The faces on each of our faces were EPIC & HORRIFIED. We didn’t even dare to say anything that we heard the sound AT ALL, and we quickly change our TV channel to something that was showing something more friendly: Masterchef USA.

WC suggested heading down to get the soft drinks and on my mind was like WHY DO YOU WANT TO GET THE SOFT DRINKS NOW AH, AT SUCH A WRONG TIME! :O

We ALL headed down to the living room, and suddenly heard the slamming sound again. This time, being at the living room reminds me at don’t know which part of Paranormal Activity where the knife suddenly comes from above?!

Fana quickly told us that the sound was actually coming from outside our villa, where construction work was still undergoing. WHOOSH HENG AH!

Such a funny experience to end off Day 1! AHAHHHHA!

Off to Day 2!

Called the buggy to bring us to the breakfast buffet area, and they arrived within 5 minutes after calling! 🙂

Great service to mention yet again! 🙂

Explored the Montigo convenience shop that the driver dropped us at, and is 2 mins away from the breakfast area!

It sells beach mats/beach balls, to bikinis, shampoos and soaps (which is pretty expensive)!

Such a HUGE spread of breakfast buffet for us to enjoy, with an additional bonus of a nice scenic view! 😀

zL8WwU1385908699

This is the main pool area, and it makes me puzzled as to how come nobody ever wants to swim at this main pool!

I guess everybody would wanna swim at their own personal pool instead of here!

But the view here is really FABULOUS. GREAT FOR PHOTOS! 🙂

We couldn’t resist, and so we decided to walk back to our villa, to get our swimming attires and head back to this main pool area.

YUP, we walked back to our villa, which took us only 5 minutes by the way, cause we were just too bloated from the buffet breakfast!

And I’m glad we did walk back!

But these were under maintenance, so we were unable to chill out/relax here! 😥

Couldn’t resist heading up to take some photos at the balcony first before heading to the main pool!

I seriously didn’t know my back is so muscular (like a boy!) :O It must be due to me playing tennis at the age of 13, but its been a long time since I last played!

Although I run quite often, like once a week, my favourite sport is still tennis, because it actually trains up your entire body: from your arms, to shoulders to improving your stamina and speed. Ok, will definitely play with my Dad and be active at it before I start school! :’)

This was when we decided to play blind mice in our own private pool!

One of us would stand in the centre of the pool, with his/her eyes closed while the others would create waves to distract that person.

c5a5Zz1386001296

Swimming and playing blind mice made us SO hungry that we ordered room service after that! O.O

Look at the heart-shaped fish nuggets! 🙂

pwy3Dv1386001475

Had to prepare for check out right after that!

Despite them giving us an extension of a hour for the check out time, we still felt it isn’t enough as nothing beats relaxing in your own personal pool at a 3 storey villa. 😦

I’ll be back, Montigo. Definitely.

Dates for the weekend

Hello! 🙂

So, today’s post is on what I did for the previous weekend!

So, on Friday, WC and I decided to eat Kiseki Jap buffet! He even picked me from my workplace, so that we could rush in time for the walk-in queue that starts at 6pm, as reservations were fully booked for that day. 😦

H5DeAm1384789584

While queueing for Kiseki. This was when we were still in a good mood to even take pictures while queuing. -.-

We queued for approx. 1 hour before we decided to give up, cause we were too hungry and WC saw this awesome Chinese restaurant that had buffet too, so we proceeded to there!

Love the peanuts and beancurd skin! 🙂

Crispy fried gyoza that has huge pork, shrimps and chives inside! 🙂

Soup with wanton! Too much MSG in this soup as it tasted too salty! 😦

BEST DISH EVER: FRIED FISH FILLET WITH PEPPER! 🙂

VVV fresh! 🙂

9PpMT41384860993

A small pathetic portion of the chilli prawns with fried bun!

Marked with a tick for this dish, and indeed they gave us ONE PIECE only.

The table beside us faced the same problem too! :O

But the sauce was GOOD! It tasted like chilli crabs sauce!

H91wFI1384861312

Special Pork Ribs, that tasted tender and sweet!

hSxf601384861796

Spinach Beancurd. MUST-ORDER, with its tender and soft beancurd!

cvbia41384870274

Xiao Long Bao that tasted pretty alright, but not as memorable as Ding Tai Fung’s one!

Fried to perfection, but the skin was too greasy!

Other than these,  there were more food such as the rice (that tasted mediocre) and seafood soup (which tasted not bad, due to its generous serving of the prawns), and mango sago dessert (more pomelo than mango)  that we ordered, but didn’t take the pictures as we were too hungry!

Although there were some hits and misses from this buffet, we paid 26 bucks for each person, including GST and service charge, which makes it cheaper than other weekend dinner buffet restaurants. 🙂

Additionally, the service pretty much made up for its food, where staff were so polite and prompt! 🙂

Walked around Orchard Central, and

YqupgD1384871863

Two more books to the John Green collection! 🙂

After that, we picked Melon up from his workplace, and watch Captain Philips!

It was kinda draggy at parts, but I still found it ok. Apparently, its 5 stars (??!!).

Have your realised recently there are so many movies tackling the theme of loss and isolation, which is highly recommended to watch? Such as Prisoners, Gravity and now Captain Philips!

But I have watched two of these three, and find that its depressing/ draggy at some parts, so I won’t really give it 5 stars for the storyline!

A pink Saturday to enjoy while accompanying WC for his upcoming test! 🙂

Fluff bakery

Open from Wednesdays to Sundays, 12pm till all bakes sell out.

Still unable to try their red velvet nutella though! 😦

Although this cupcake is a little costly ($4 per piece), its really moist and has hidden treasures (fillings I mean), in the cupcake itself that makes it more special! 🙂 CRAVING FOR IT RIGHT NOW! :O

I WILL BE BACK FOR THE RED VELVET!

La Marelle café is a café which has so many things to look at that are all picture-worthy.

Rainbow crepe cake, that costed us $8.90.
Rainbow cake was famous, then Mille crepe cake!
And now I am.. café has gone a step further to make this a dream come true! 🙂
Layers of vanilla cream and chocolate cream alternating between the different layers, this cake doesn’t taste too sweet at all! 😀
I will gladly head back for this cake, and the brunch! 😀
So that’s two café to look out for in the sunny Singapore, which are really worthy of exploration!
Thanks for reading! 😀
